Legendary rock ballads in the powerful sound of the organ beneath the vaulted ceilings of St. Paul’s Church. We are proud to present the premiere of our new programme ROCK AND ORGAN: BALLADS. There is a side of rock music where melody takes centre stage rather than volume. This time, ROCK AND ORGAN reveals a different side, focusing on legendary ballads and compositions that have long become classics of rock music. The organ meets electric guitar, bass guitar, vocals and drums. This unique combination brings familiar music to life in a new way — from lyrical, almost intimate passages to powerful climaxes performed by the full ensemble. The rock ballads retain their unmistakable character and identity while gaining the scale and depth of the organ’s sound. Beneath the Neo-Gothic vaults of St. Paul’s Church, these rock ballads take on a completely new dimension. The magnificent acoustics, lighting and architecture enhance the grandeur of the music while preserving its emotional power and intimacy.
